- TV presenter Kushanashvili accused blogger Lercek of faking stomach cancer. What is known
Blogger Lerchek (real name — Valeria Chekalina) is undergoing treatment for cancer, but her diagnosis has provoked harsh criticism from Russian TV presenter Otar Kushanashvili. All the details are in the Izvestia article.
Accusations of simulation against Lercek
Otar Kushanashvili criticized Valeria Chekalina in the program "How does it feel?!" published on the YouTube channel. In his opinion, the blogger's illness is a performance staged to attract attention. The journalist drew attention to the fact that Chekalina does not name the doctors and does not indicate the clinic where the treatment is taking place.
Kushanashvili, who himself faced cancer, noted that he always openly thanked specific specialists who helped him in the fight against the disease. He called what was happening around the blogger a huge bubble, emphasizing the absence of references to medical personnel in her stories.
"Why is it that in this chronicle, which resembles a tour at the Vernadsky Circus, not a single exulap is mentioned by first name? <...> There is not a single mention of how grateful they are to the nurses, not a single doctor's name, nothing. Because it's all a huge bubble," said the TV presenter.
Lerchek's health status
The blogger announced the completion of the fifth course of chemotherapy for stage four stomach cancer. Valeria Chekalina noted an improvement in well-being and the absence of nausea after the last procedure. As confirmation of her words, she provided the results of medical examinations.
In the fight against the disease, Cekalin is supported by her fiance Luis Squicciarini. He said that due to bone metastases, the girl was in severe pain and had to use a wheelchair, but radiation therapy gave a positive result.
"Lera was in a wheelchair because of the pain caused by bone metastases, especially in her leg. Thanks to treatment, especially radiation therapy, the number of metastases decreased and her bones became healthier," said Luis Squicciarini.
Conflicts over Social media Posts
Despite the claims about the disease, doubts about the truthfulness of the diagnosis appeared on the Web. The reason was a video from a fitness club where Chekalina was spotted. Due to the publication of these images, the administration of the center terminated the contract with the client who shot the blogger. Questions were also raised about the documents according to which Valeria Chekalina allegedly refused to be hospitalized at the beginning of the year.
In parallel with the treatment, the financial issues of the family are being resolved. The blogger's ex-husband Artem Chekalin sold a mansion in the village of Agalarov Estate for 176 million rubles. The proceeds were used to pay off Lercek's tax debts, which was a prerequisite for the deal, which was resolved by the court.
Lercek also presented a new cosmetic brand Eyya Skin. For the advertising campaign, she starred without a wig, stating her desire to support women who are faced with cancer. The court proceedings involving her are currently suspended.
