Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lercek, is undergoing cancer treatment. Lawyer Ekaterina Gordon and lawyer Elena Ponomareva spoke about access to medical care during the investigation, and the Moscow Arbitration Court dismissed the blogger's bankruptcy case. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Lerchek's health status

The blogger is undergoing cancer treatment. According to Chekalina's lover Luis Squicciarini, the course consists of nine stages — the first session and immunotherapy have already been completed. The disease has caused serious complications: Lercek has completely lost the sight in her right eye and has difficulty walking. She recently had a venous port inserted into her neck to administer drugs.

"I'm ready. On alert. Now they will install a port in the neck. I will be like a female transformer," said Chekalina.

Despite her serious condition, the blogger briefly left the clinic to celebrate her son Lev's fourth birthday. The blogger's ex-husband, Artyom, admitted that the treatment requires significant financial costs, and wished her a speedy recovery.

Positions of Valeria Chekalina's lawyers

Lawyer Ekaterina Gordon on April 2 denied claims that Chekalina was allegedly given the opportunity to undergo the necessary therapy. According to her, she personally saw the blogger's petition asking to be sent to a specialized medical center due to severe pain. Gordon clarified that Lercek helps free of charge.

"I will help her with everything and I am already helping her, absolutely free of charge. Unfortunately, her diagnosis is so difficult," the lawyer said in the podcast "Negotiation" for Radio 1.

Lawyer Elena Ponomareva holds a different position. According to her, Chekalina was not restricted in her right to medical care, as her petitions were granted. The investigation rejected only requests to visit commercial clinics, which could negatively affect the course of the investigation, Channel Five reports.

"She was only denied access to commercial establishments, which, according to the investigation, could have some negative consequences for the investigation of the case," Ponomareva said.

The lawyer also noted that a forensic medical examination will be carried out as part of the case: specialists will check whether there is a connection between the blogger's state of health and the actions of the investigative authorities.

Lercek's position

Chekalina links the late detection of cancer with limitations during the investigation. During her period of house arrest, she was denied access to specialized specialists in private clinics, and government agencies in Istra were unable to make an accurate diagnosis. The blogger submitted a statement demanding to check the actions of the police officers.

"All we found in Istra is a paramedic's office. But when I got there, there was just a table on the ground floor of this five-story building, and a paramedic was sitting behind it. They could measure the maximum temperature there. I didn't find any equipment that could help me there," she said.

In response to the claims, the Moscow Interior Ministry clarified that there was no complete ban on medical care. The agency explained that only applications for visits to private medical centers were rejected.

Payment of tax debt

On March 31, the Moscow Arbitration Court terminated the bankruptcy proceedings against Chekalina. The reason was the full repayment of debts owed to the tax authorities: the blogger's lawyer submitted documents on the transfer of 176 million rubles, which exceeded the initial requirements of the Federal Tax Service of about 173 million rubles. The court noted that the funds came from a third party.

The beloved of the blogger Squicciarini denied this information, stating that he was paying off the debt on his own.

"The debt to the tax service has been repaid. It was repaid not by someone, but independently," Squicciarini wrote on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Suspected simulation of Lercek's disease

There have been posts on social media questioning the severity of the blogger's condition. Blogger Inna Kombarova reported on the Telegram channel that her friend allegedly saw Chekalina training at the gym and in the sauna a few days before the latest news. The author of the publication expressed concern that such situations could damage the reputation of the healthcare system.

"I don't want to push it, but my friend caught Lercek in training three days ago. And here I am defending the healthcare system, which saves me and millions of people in our country. I would not like to see her denigrated," wrote Kombarova.
