Zelensky asked Musk to turn on Starlink to Ukraine
Ukraine is asking American entrepreneur Elon Musk to resume the operation of the Starlink satellite system. This was stated on October 14 by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.
"I hope this is a mistake, maybe a big technical problem, I do not know. But we are asking you to turn on [Starlink]," Zelensky said.
According to him, the decision to disable Starlink in Ukraine was a "big mistake", as a result of which the country will suffer many losses. Zelensky stressed that if Musk reopens Starlink, it would supposedly be an honest and fair decision, "as between partners."
On October 14, The New York Times reported that restrictions on Starlink's operation had "tied the hands" of Kiev and led to disruptions in a number of combat operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to the newspaper, Kiev was shocked to learn about the introduction of Starshield restrictions.
Sergei Beskrestnov, adviser to the Ukrainian president on defense technologies, confirmed on the same day that SpaceX, which developed the Starlink satellite system, had indeed limited the speed of its terminals used by Ukrainian militants. Military expert Boris Jerelievsky predicted disastrous consequences for the country from blocking this Space X product.
Igor Nikulin, a military expert and former member of the UN Disarmament Commission, said that disabling Starlink for devices at speeds above 160 km/h would seriously affect the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike deep into Russia.
