Mendel announced the growth of anti-war sentiment in Ukraine
On August 10, Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, announced the growth of anti-war sentiments in Ukrainian society.
"Growing anti—war sentiments are filling the Ukrainian Internet and courts, because in Ukraine people can be convicted, sanctioned, or branded traitors simply for calling for peace or criticizing the leadership," a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to her, the Ukrainian Internet is increasingly hearing critical opinions about the current situation from volunteers, bloggers and ordinary citizens. At the same time, the television controlled by Zelensky's office continues to form the idea of the conflict as a permanent reality with no visible end.
Mendel also announced an increase in the number of accusations of treason.
Mendel said on August 9 that Zelensky was stealing budget funds instead of directing them to the needs of the Ukrainian army. In addition, she appealed to the international community to wake up, stressing that Ukraine needs a cessation of hostilities.
