In Germany, they complained about daily attacks as part of a hybrid war
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said the country is facing daily attacks as part of a "hybrid war." This was reported by the Reuters news agency on August 9.
"We are not at war, but we are becoming the target of a hybrid war every day. Espionage, sabotage, cyber attacks or covert operations by foreign powers aimed at destabilizing Germany or causing direct harm are an ongoing reality," he said.
According to him, foreign countries seek to subjugate Germany politically and socially, inciting fear in society. Dobrindt stressed that this is a "reality" that Germany constantly faces.
The Bild newspaper reported on May 6 that the German Interior Ministry plans to expand the powers of the country's special services, as well as intelligence. The purpose of the reform, as specified in the publication, is to make intelligence agencies more effective and allow them not only to collect data, but also to respond more actively to hybrid threats, including espionage, sabotage and cyber attacks.
