The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack after the attack on civilian facilities in Belgorod.

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case on a terrorist act after a drone attack on civilian facilities in Belgorod. This was announced on August 9 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

"A criminal case has been opened on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on civilian facilities in Belgorod," a message on the Maks messenger said.

According to the investigation, on August 9, Ukrainian armed groups using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacked apartment buildings, administrative buildings and social infrastructure facilities in Belgorod.

As a result of the attack, there are dead and injured, among them children. The criminal case was initiated under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Terrorist act". The UK stated that they intend to establish all the circumstances of the incident and bring to justice those involved in the attack.

As a result of the drone strike, five people were killed and more than 20 were injured.

The acting governor of the Belgorod region, Alexander Shuvaev, on the same day reported the death of three civilians as a result of a night attack on Belgorod. According to Shuvaev, over the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the territory of the Belgorod region 146 times. Strikes were carried out in 21 municipal districts. Nine people were injured in Grayvoronsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky and Shebekinsky districts. In addition, the enemy used artillery, aircraft and multiple rocket launchers four times, and dropped explosive devices from drones seven times.
