Russians were given a salary to receive maximum pension points in 2026
A salary of 74.5 thousand rubles per month will allow working pensioners to gain the maximum three individual pension coefficients (IPC) for 2026. This was announced on August 9 by Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
"Taking into account the current value of the marginal base for insurance premiums in the amount of 2,979,000 rubles, in 2026 a monthly salary of 74,475 rubles is required for a working pensioner," the expert said in an interview with TASS.
According to the economist, the current legislation limits the annual increase in pension payments for working pensioners to three pension coefficients.
As Balynin explained, the calculation is related to the maximum value of the base for calculating insurance premiums. With a lower income, the amount of pension points accrued will depend on the amount of earnings and insurance premiums paid.
The economist also noted that in August 2027, the old-age insurance pensions of working pensioners will be automatically adjusted without submitting an application. The recalculation will take into account the pension coefficients earned by citizens in 2026.
Balynin reported the day before that the average salary of Russians for the year increased by 12% and reached 109.1 thousand rubles in April 2026. According to him, compared with April 2024, the average salary increased by 30% (more than 25 thousand rubles), and since April 2020, wages have increased by more than 2.2 times. The economist attributed the increase to an increase in the minimum wage (from 12,130 rubles in 2020 to 27,093 rubles in 2026), a shortage of personnel and the need for highly qualified specialists to ensure Russia's technological sovereignty.
