The court ordered the passenger who fell on the way to pay for disrupting subway traffic

A court in Moscow ordered a passenger who fell intoxicated on his way to the subway to pay compensation to the subway for disrupting the timetable. This is evidenced on August 1 by the case materials available to RIA Novosti.

"The claims of the Moscow Metro State Unitary Enterprise against the defendant for damages must be satisfied," the court said in its decision.

It is noted that the passenger himself did not attend the meeting.

The incident occurred on the evening of September 28, 2025 at the Sokol station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line. Due to the man's fall on the main road, traffic on the site was stopped for 12 minutes. The cancellation of two trains and two unscheduled passenger drop-offs brought losses to the subway in the form of lost profits. The amount of the claim is not specified.

When reviewing the administrative material, the man pleaded not guilty and explained that he had fallen on the way due to a sudden deterioration in his health. The court agreed that the passenger was on the tracks unintentionally, after which it reclassified the case from Part 3 to Part 1 of Article 11.15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of requirements in the field of transport safety") and imposed a fine of 5 thousand rubles.

The investigation intends to apply for her detention.

A similar incident on January 1 is evidenced by the case file of a passenger on the Moscow metro, who "due to his own carelessness" fell on the tracks of one of the stations. This led to an 11-minute traffic stop and disrupted the normal operation of the subway. At the trial, the man admitted his guilt and asked for a reduction in the amount of compensation.
