Trump assessed Iran's readiness for a peace agreement
Iran is interested in negotiations, but is not yet ready to conclude a peace agreement. This was announced on July 23 by US President Donald Trump.
"They haven't experienced enough pain yet," Trump told Axios.
The US president has allowed the possibility of new military strikes on Iranian territory. According to him, the potential operation could be larger than Operation Epic Fury, which the United States conducted against Iran from late February to early May.
Trump also noted that in the event of a new conflict, Israel could join the strikes. At the same time, he stressed that Washington is able to act independently and does not need the support of allies to launch a military operation.
According to Axios, citing American officials, at the moment the head of the White House has not given new orders to the armed forces to launch strikes.
On July 21, the American leader announced the US intention to strike at Iran's alleged new nuclear facility. According to him, Washington is not interested in meeting with the Iranian side until Tehran is really ready for it constructively and it will make sense.
