While President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is preparing for a cabinet reshuffle, special attention is being paid to the current Minister of Defense, Mikhail Fedorov. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 15.

"It is unclear whether Zelensky, who is conducting the second cabinet reshuffle in a year, plans to keep Fedorov in office at a time when the Ukrainian conflict is at a critical stage," the agency writes.

According to the agency, even if he is nominated for the post of defense minister again, the Verkhovna Rada may not approve this candidacy, which adds to the risk of the vote scheduled for July 16.

According to Fyodorov's supporters, his attempts to restore order in the field of defense procurement have caused discontent among some of the ruling circles in Ukraine. Some lawmakers also criticize him for not fulfilling his promise to reform the mobilization system quickly enough.

Zelensky announced on July 12 that he plans to change the composition of the entire government. He cited the country's preparations for the new winter and agreements with Kiev's allies on reconstruction as the reasons for the personnel changes.

On July 14, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the resignation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, which means the resignation of the entire Cabinet of Ministers of the country. Now Denis Shmygal has again assumed the role of acting head of government. The remaining ministers remain in their posts and in their acting roles.

At the same time, Sviridenko's likely new position is the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the United States. It is currently occupied by Olga Stefanyshina, but the Ukrainian media reported on her impending resignation at her own request.
