Average prices for cucumbers in Russia in the first week of July decreased by 14.2% compared to the beginning of June, becoming the cheapest product in a month. This was announced on July 14 in Rusprodsoyuz based on the results of the price analysis.
"Cucumber has become the cheapest product in Russia in a month, average prices for it in the first week of July decreased by 14.2% compared to the first week of June," the union told RIA Novosti.
It is clarified that the list of products with the most noticeable reduction in cost also includes tomatoes and eggs. Prices for tomatoes decreased by 7.1% over the month, and for eggs — by 6.6%.
On April 6, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) sent requests to retail chains about pricing for chicken eggs and milk. Thus, the agency requested data on the weekly and monthly dynamics of the weighted average purchase and retail prices for these products. When violations were detected, it was planned to take appropriate response measures.
