The first robot wedding took place in the Pushkin Moscow Library
On July 9, the Pushkin Library in Moscow hosted the first humanoid robot wedding ceremony. Footage of the unusual event is published by Izvestia.
The marriage was concluded by office worker and blogger Robert and ballerina Matilda. These robot models were first presented to the general public at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).
Maria Pantyukhina, the host of the celebration, called the event a unique event and noted that the newlyweds were united by modern technologies and common values, in particular, the desire for development and cooperation.
During the ceremony, the robots swore allegiance to each other. Robert promised to become a reliable partner in all the algorithms of life, and Matilda declared her willingness to inspire her husband to make new discoveries and cherish the bond. After that, the Dogmatic robot brought out wedding bracelets, which were exchanged by the members of the union.
"Based on full version compatibility, successful system synchronization, and the agreement of both sides, I declare you robot friends," the agency quoted the presenter as saying.
Anna Baghdasaryan, Deputy General Director of the IT-Imperial robot development company, explained that such events are designed to draw attention to complex technologies of humanoid robotics. According to her, this demonstrates the benefits of robots for humans.
According to Baghdasaryan, the automation of labor and the development of robotics in a post-industrial society make it possible to free up human time for culture and harmonization.
The prospects for the coexistence of humans and robots in the modern world were discussed on June 6 by participants of the session "Robots + AI: what and where to learn in order to create the future?" at SPIEF 2026. According to Alexander Krainov, Director of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Development at Yandex, when integrating technical devices into everyday life, many factors must be taken into account.
