A yellow weather hazard level due to thunderstorms has been declared in Moscow until Saturday evening. The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia announced this on July 4.

"The warning period is from 21:00 on July 3 to 21:00 on July 4. Thunderstorms with rain are expected in some places on July 4. During a thunderstorm, wind gusts up to 15 m/s," the Moscow City News agency quotes the message.

In the Moscow region, a similar warning will be in effect until 21:00 on Sunday, July 5.

Earlier in the day, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that rain, thunderstorms, hail and winds of up to 17 m/s are expected in the Moscow region from Friday evening to Saturday morning, July 4.
