Rabies quarantine was introduced on one of the streets of Krasnoyarsk
A quarantine has been introduced in Krasnoyarsk in connection with an identified case of rabies. This is reported by KrasnoyarskMedia news agency with reference to the relevant decree signed by the governor of the region Mikhail Kotyukov.
According to the document, an outbreak of rabies was recorded on Totmina Street, 3. Now quarantine has been established within a radius of 500 m. It is expected that it will be removed on August 24.
During the rabies quarantine period, it is prohibited to move animals and remove them from the affected area.
In the spring, Lyubov Semeykina, head of the Epidemiology Department at the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in Primorsky Krai, spoke in more detail about the sources of human rabies infection. She also noted that the characteristics of rabies include a long incubation period, damage to the nervous system and mortality.
