An explosive technician from the Rosgvardiya OMON was killed while neutralizing an ammunition dropped by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Rylsk, and a policeman was also injured as a result of the strike. This was announced on July 1 by Alexander Khinshtein, Governor of the Kursk region.
"An explosives specialist from the Rosgvardiya OMON was killed while trying to clear a combat unit. Sincere condolences to the family. A police officer was also injured," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.
The head of the region clarified that the ammunition was dropped by the Ukrainian military from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It is specified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue attacks using drones.
Khinstein urged residents to be careful, observe safety measures and not approach suspicious objects.
A day earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Donetsk People's Republic reported the death of the commander of one of the departments of the 10th fire and rescue unit. It was noted that the man arrived to extinguish two trucks that had ignited as a result of UAV strikes, but at the time of the work, the drones repeatedly attacked the scene. As a result of the incident, three people were also injured and hospitalized.
