The IRGC announced the elimination of a militant group in northwestern Iran.

Fighters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have eliminated a militant group in the province of West Azerbaijan in northwestern Iran. This was reported on June 30 by the IRIB news agency, citing a statement from the IRGC Ground Forces headquarters at the Hamza Seyed al-Shuhada base.

According to the publication, the IRGC successfully ambushed the heights in the districts of Mahabad and Piranshahr. As a result of the exchange of fire and with artillery support, the entire group of six militants was destroyed. The bodies of four of them, as well as captured weapons and ammunition, were seized by Iranian fighters.

Earlier in the day, it became known about the death of two IRGC members and the wounding of two more as a result of an attack by militants in the city of Pav in the western province of Kermanshah. The Iranian military wing described the incident as a terrorist attack.

The fragile agreements between Washington and Tehran are on the verge due to Israel's tough stance.

On June 28, the IRGC's naval and air forces jointly attacked American military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain with missiles and drones in response to US strikes. The US military had previously struck targets associated with Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.

A member of the office of Iran's former supreme leader Habibollah Fazaeli said on June 28 that Tehran had canceled technical talks with Washington scheduled for Sunday due to an exchange of strikes between Iranian forces and the US military in the Strait of Hormuz.
