Russia has not received any requests for help from Venezuela

The Russian side has not received requests from Venezuela for help due to the earthquake. This was announced to Izvestia on June 28 at the Russian Embassy in the republic.

"According to the Authorized Representative of the President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, several countries in the region have sent their specialists, as well as humanitarian aid to the Bolivarian Republic. As for the requests from the local side, so far we have not received any," the diplomats stressed.

The embassy noted that they are in constant contact with representatives of the Venezuelan authorities, keep in touch with compatriots living in Venezuela, monitor the development of the situation, analyze incoming information from the field.

According to the latest data, there are four Russians among the injured Venezuelan residents, they received minor and moderate injuries.

The earthquakes in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The magnitude of the natural disaster reached 7.5. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900. According to the latest data, as a result of a series of powerful earthquakes, the death toll has exceeded 1,400 people, and search and rescue operations are continuing.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 25 that Russia was currently considering the possibility of providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela after the earthquake. Russian diplomats are in constant contact with the authorities and emergency services of the republic.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a member of the United Nations, said on June 27 that the earthquake in Venezuela could affect up to 6.7 million people.
