A powerful earthquake occurred in northern Venezuela on the night of June 25. According to seismologists, the magnitude of the tremors was 7.1–7.5. The center was located at a depth of about 13 km, and the epicenter was located in the Yaracuy State region, near the cities of Valencia and San Felipe.
The disaster affected several regions of the country at once. The most serious consequences were recorded in the states of Yaracuy, Carabobo, Aragua, Miranda and Trujillo, as well as in the capital district of Caracas and the city of La Guayra.

According to the latest official data, 32 people became victims of a powerful earthquake in Venezuela. More than 700 residents of the country received injuries of varying severity and were taken to medical institutions.
The Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, announced updated information on the consequences of the natural disaster on June 25.
"At the moment, we have data on 32 deaths, not counting the figures that the state of La Guaira can provide, and more than 700 victims admitted to the emergency departments of public hospitals and private medical centers," Rodriguez said in a statement posted on the social network.
The country's authorities also reported on the upcoming international assistance. Rescue units from the United States, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Qatar are expected to arrive in Venezuela in the near future. Meanwhile, rescue services continue to operate in the most affected areas of the country. In Caracas, emergency workers are sorting through the rubble of collapsed houses in search of possible survivors.
"We arrived in the Pintos-Alinos area of Caracas. A building fell here. It is reported that there are victims. Rescue operations are underway now. The rescue guard is trying to find those who may be under the rubble," Izvestia correspondent Anna Osipova reported from the scene.
According to preliminary information from rescuers, at least three people may remain under the rubble of one of the destroyed buildings. In another area of the search operation, emergency services managed to extract two survivors from the wreckage. After first aid, they were taken to the hospital.

President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele expressed his condolences to the people of Venezuela in connection with the destruction and confirmed his intention to send rescue units and humanitarian equipment.
"At the moment, we have offered assistance to the government of Venezuela through our Ministry of Foreign Affairs," the politician wrote on the social network X.
According to him, 300 rescuers and paramedics are ready to be sent to Caracas, as well as about 50 tons of equipment, medicines and necessary supplies.
