The situation on the border of Belarus and Ukraine in the Gomel region remains controlled and stable, despite certain difficulties. This was announced on June 23 by the governor of the region, Ivan Krupko, at a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"The situation, like in the whole world, is difficult, but stable and controlled. Security issues are at the most important level today," BelTA quoted him as saying.

During the meeting, Lukashenko appealed to the residents of the region not to show excessive concern. According to the Belarusian leader, the republic has enough resources to ensure the safety of its citizens.

"The President asked me to tell the residents of the Gomel region not to worry about anything, not to worry: we have enough forces and means to repel the attack of any aggressor," the head of the region emphasized.

In addition, Lukashenko was informed about cooperation with the Russian side on assistance to victims of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a bus carrying Belarusian children in the Bryansk region.
