US intelligence has warned US President Donald Trump that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may try to disrupt the deal with Iran. This was reported on June 19 by The Washington Post (WP), citing sources.

"US intelligence agencies have warned the Trump administration that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to take steps that would undermine the president's efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement with Iran," the publication says.

The American intelligence report concludes that in the run-up to the parliamentary elections, Netanyahu's political survival depends on his willingness to continue fighting in Lebanon. In addition, the document describes the disappointment of the Israeli side with the terms of the memorandum between the United States and Iran.

On June 19, Trump declared the need to keep Netanyahu "sane," despite the good relations between them.

The New York Times reported on June 18 that the Israeli authorities perceive the peace agreement between Washington and Tehran as a "catastrophic surrender." According to the newspaper, the Iranian authorities are coming out of the war "even tougher and more confident," and the agreement does not solve the issue of Iran's missile arsenal in any way.
