- Lercek told about the seventh course of chemotherapy against the background of the prosecutor's office check
Blogger Lercek (real name — Valeria Chekalina) got in touch on June 17 and talked about the progress of the seventh course of chemotherapy. On the same day, the prosecutor's office sent a request to the metropolitan court to conduct a second forensic medical examination. All the details are in the Izvestia article.
The blogger's health status
Chekalina's video message was posted on Instagram (owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization in Russia) by her lover, choreographer Luis Squicciarini. The blogger said that the course takes place in several stages: the first took place on Tuesday directly at the hospital, the second on Wednesday at home. Chekalina also demonstrated a device for administering the drug, fixed on the body during the home stage of treatment.
"The seventh chemistry. Lera is holding up great! Wish me good health and pray for healing. We all believe in it. The children need Lera," Squicciarini said in the video.
Earlier, Chekalina's fiance reported that the treatment was giving positive results, but the blogger was suffering from edema and temporary vision problems. According to him, despite her serious condition, Valeria remains combative and strives to spend more time with children.
"Lera is holding up great! Wish her good health and pray for healing! We all believe in it. The children need Lera! In this video, she swelled up due to the decreased protein and hormones," he wrote earlier.
The Prosecutor's Office's demand
On the same day, June 17, the prosecutor's office sent a request to the Gagarin Court of Moscow for a second comprehensive forensic medical examination. The reason was a complaint from a citizen who was alerted by the footage of active training by Chekalina during chemotherapy and after spinal surgery. The applicant also requests that prosecutorial response measures be applied to Squicciarini.
"I am requesting the recovery of the medical record of the defendant Valeria Valeryevna Chekalina and the appointment of a comprehensive forensic medical commission examination against her," the case file says.
The agency points to a contradiction between the footage of an active lifestyle published by the blogger and the serious state of health that Lercek claims. According to the case file, Chekalina published information about undergoing surgery to restore vertebrae destroyed by metastases.
Doubts about the media space
The question of the authenticity of Chekalina's diagnosis was also raised on federal television. TV presenter Andrey Malakhov suggested that the story of the disease could have been invented to promote the new cosmetic brand Eyya Skin. Journalist Otar Kushanashvili also expressed doubts about the truthfulness of the disease.
In response, Valeria's relatives published extracts from her medical record. Her brother Rodion Chekalin urged not to believe the rumors, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation, and singer Egor Creed publicly expressed support for the blogger. Dana Borisova, who was invited to Malakhov's broadcast, did not agree with the arguments of the presenter and also supported Chekalina.
Business and debt
Despite intensive therapy, Valeria Chekalina continues to develop her new cosmetics brand Eyya Skin. At the end of May, a sale of her luxury personal items took place in Moscow. At the same time, the blogger decided to stop attending public events and social events during her rehabilitation.
At the same time, the family completed the payment of tax debts to the state. To fulfill his financial obligations, the blogger's ex-husband Artem Chekalin sold the house. The transaction amount amounted to 176 million rubles, all funds were used to repay debts.
