Malysheva called the Second World War an event to strengthen the bond between generations.

For the people of Russia, the Great Patriotic War (WWII) is an event that strengthens the bond between generations. This was announced on June 15 by Elena Malysheva, head of the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation.

"For our people, the Great Patriotic War is an event that <...>..> strengthens the bonds of generations. Including [through] awareness of those forces, those resources that ensured victory back then and now allow us to cope with the challenges of our time," she said at a press conference of the National Center for Historical Memory dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War in TASS.

On the same day, the propaganda train of the Russian Ministry of Defense "Unity in Memory. Strength in a feat!" traveled from Moscow to Belarus for commemorative events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War.

The campaign is dedicated to the common history of the countries and the memory of the dead, as well as the fight against the rewriting of history and the preservation of the continuity of the military traditions of the defenders of the Fatherland. The train brought together seven themed carriages dedicated to the events of the Second World War.

Among the mourners of the train was veteran Kirill Semenov, who turned 103 in May. He conveyed to the Belarusian veterans a message from Russian comrades, as well as letters to future generations of the two countries. The appeals contained in the capsules will be placed in the Brest Fortress, the Belarusian State Museum and the Museum of Glory of the Mogilev Region to be solemnly opened on May 9, 2045.

Commemorative events will be held in Smolensk, Tula, Rzhev, Vyazma, Orsha and Baranovichi along the train route. The participants of the actions will learn, for example, about the partisan movement in Belarus, see military equipment of that period, and also take part in discussions of the Conversations about the Main club. In addition, visitors will be able to find information about their relatives who are veterans.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov laid flowers at the Victory Monument in the center of Minsk as part of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War. A memorial in honor of the Victory and in memory of the soldiers of the Soviet Army, partisans and underground fighters who died during the war was opened in Minsk on the 10th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the occupying German troops.
