Disruptions to the Internet and communications in Russian regions are possible, but such restrictions will be imposed solely in the interests of the safety of citizens. This was announced on June 15 by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, at a meeting.

"I believe that there is no need to grumble, because let's put it on the scales.: You couldn't access the Internet or saved people's lives. Problems with communication and the Internet will be in the interests of security," Pamfilova said, commenting on the organization of remote electronic voting in the upcoming elections.
