A festival of dishes of the country's peoples was held in the DPR on the occasion of Russia Day

In the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), a festival of dishes of the peoples of Russia, prepared by soldiers of the international Pyatnashka brigade, was held on the occasion of Russia Day. This was reported on June 12 by Izvestia correspondent Evgeny Bykovsky.

Dishes of Greek, Abkhazian, Armenian, Ossetian, Tatar, Korean and Yakut cuisines are presented on the site. Master classes in quilling, origami, bracelet weaving and pancake making were also organized for the guests.

The concert program was prepared by artists of the Donetsk Philharmonic, who performed folk songs. In addition, visitors were introduced to the cultural traditions of the peoples living in Russia on interactive platforms.

"All the invited guys will be able to taste cuisines of different nationalities. About 10 ethnic groups that live in our large country are represented here today — representatives of North Ossetia, Abkhazia and Azerbaijan," said Sergey Dobrovolsky, head of the Young Guard of United Russia in the DPR.

He noted that despite the difficult situation in the region, Russia Day remains one of the country's main holidays.

As part of the celebration of Russia Day, residents of different cities organized festive events and participated in them. The festive events started on June 11. More than 500 activists took part in a festive performance in Moscow.: They performed folk dances in national costumes, then lined up in the word "Russia" and solemnly unfurled the national flag of the Russian Federation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the ceremony of awarding the gold medals "Hero of Labor of Russia" and badges to the laureates of the Russian State Prizes on June 12 that solidarity and patriotism have always been the main values for Russians and helped defeat the country's enemies. He also noted that sincere feelings of responsibility for the Fatherland are close to every Russian, and for the participants of the special operation (SVO) it is a reliable spiritual support, as well as the support of heroes by the whole society.
