Mishustin announced the allocation of 5 billion rubles to help people with diabetes
The Russian government will allocate 5 billion rubles to help people with diabetes. This was announced on June 8 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"We will allocate almost 5 billion more rubles for these purposes. This will provide systems for over 50,000 children and tens of thousands of expectant mothers," Mishustin said.
According to the Prime minister, the government is working within the framework of the national project "Long and active Life", providing children and adolescents with type I diabetes, as well as pregnant women with the opportunity to receive continuous glucose monitoring systems for free.
The financing will allow the regions to establish an uninterrupted supply of patients and carry out all necessary procedures within the framework of public procurement, so that patients receive the necessary devices in the second half of this year and at the beginning of next year. Mishustin expressed hope that the decisions taken will improve the quality of life of children, adolescents and pregnant women with diabetes.
On April 24, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that diabetes had begun to be detected in the younger generation in Russia. The Deputy Prime Minister also added that there is an increase in obesity among the population in the country.
