The media reported on the preparation of anti-corruption reform in Hungary

Next week, the Hungarian government will present to parliament an anti-corruption bill necessary to allocate billions of euros previously frozen from European Union (EU) funds. This was announced on June 5 by Hungarian Minister of Transport and Investments David Vitesi.

"This will be a comprehensive anti—corruption bill that will also increase the transparency of Hungarian public life," he was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.

Vitesi added that the law will allow Hungary to receive up to €10 billion from the EU's recovery fund after the COVID-19 pandemic to finance projects in the field of transport and renewable energy, as well as funds to support small businesses and the construction of rental housing.

The Politico newspaper reported on May 23 that Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar will travel to Brussels next week to discuss with the European Commission the issue of unblocking European funds to support Hungary.

Magyar said on April 29 that Hungary and the European Commission plan to conclude an agreement after May 25 that will allow Budapest to receive funds blocked by Brussels from the budget and special funds of the European Union.
