Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk did not shake hands with Russian Mirra Andreeva after losing in the semifinals of the Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament in Paris. The match took place on June 4 and ended with a score of 6:1, 6:3.

After the meeting, 23-year-old Kostyuk, who occupies the 18th place in the world ranking, passed by Andreeva. The Ukrainian athlete shook hands only with the referee on the tower, after which she immediately went to the locker room.

The match was held as part of the French Open Tennis Championship. For 19-year-old Andreeva, reaching the final of the tournament was a significant achievement this season. Kostyuk maintained her position in the top 20 of the strongest tennis players on the planet during the tournament.

Andreeva reached the final of the French Open Tennis Championship after defeating Kostyuk. In the decisive match, the Russian tennis player's opponent will be the winner of the semi-final between compatriot Diana Schneider and Polish athlete Maya Khvalinskaya.
