In Dortmund, Germany, a man attacked restaurant patrons, shot at a policeman and took two children hostage. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on June 2.
"On Tuesday evening, a man barricaded himself in an apartment in the Hoechsten district of Dortmund. <...> He took two small children hostage and shot at a policeman earlier," the publication says.
It is assumed that the perpetrator is a citizen of Serbia. According to the newspaper, the man smashed up the restaurant, threatened the guests and sprayed pepper spray. After that, he drove off in a car, taking two children hostage, and disappeared into a house in one of the city's districts.
Special police forces and a negotiation team are currently on site. The negotiators entered the house and are trying to convince the perpetrator to release the children and surrender, he adds.Газета.Ru ".
ABC11 TV channel reported on June 1 that six people were killed in a shooting in Muscatine, Iowa. 52-year-old Ryan McFarland is suspected of the attack, who was later found on a trail along the Mississippi River with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
