A rare atmospheric phenomenon, asperatus clouds, which are called "diabolical", were observed over Moscow on Tuesday, June 2. This was announced by Suleiman Mostamandi, senior researcher at the MIPT Laboratory of Climate Dynamics.

According to him, asperatus is a rare and spectacular cloud shape with chaotic wave-like structures on the lower edge, writes "Moscow 24".

"They got their nickname "diabolical" because of their sinister appearance, but they themselves do not pose any weather threats. Clouds are mainly of the stratocumulus and high-cumulus types," Mostamandi told the Moscow City News agency.

The scientist added that asperatus was officially recognized as a separate type of cloud only in 2017. At the same time, the mechanism of formation of "diabolical" clouds is not fully clear. 360.ru .

Earlier, on June 1, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told what weather is expected in Moscow and the Moscow region in the near future. The specialist noted that abnormal heat is not expected in the near future, but the temperature will stabilize at a comfortable level — about +21 ... +23 degrees during the week.
