Zakharova called Kiev's provocations in the Black Sea acts of terrorism
Russia is concerned about the escalation of terrorist activity in the Black Sea by the Kiev regime. This was announced on June 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"We are concerned about the noticeable escalation of terrorist activity in the Black Sea by the Kiev regime, which leads to a deterioration of conditions and an increase in risks for civilian navigation, and we believe that the elimination of any security threats in the region remains one of the most important elements of a comprehensive settlement of the crisis around Ukraine," Zakharova said on the agency's website.
She added that the attack of Ukrainian unmanned boats on tankers off the coast of Turkey on May 28 demonstrates the Kiev regime's complete disregard for international law. Zakharova stressed that such terrorist attacks should be a reason for international investigation.
"Of course, both the organizers and the performers must answer for this blatant robbery. We confirm our readiness for close cooperation with Ankara in the interests of finding optimal ways to stabilize the Black Sea water area and exert effective influence on Kiev," Zakharova added.
On May 28, the Russian army struck the unmanned Sargan-2 boat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Black Sea using a Geran drone. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the strike was carried out by specialists of the unmanned systems forces.
On May 26, the Russian Defense Ministry also reported that Russian military personnel suppressed three guided aircraft missiles of the SCALP model, as well as two unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzia said on May 28 that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, and his sponsors were not interested in a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. He added that both Zelensky and his sponsors are doing everything to escalate the confrontation.
