About 30% of the total number of foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are concentrated in the Kharkiv region. This was reported on May 2 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"The number of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine is estimated at 16,500 bayonets. About 30% of all foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about five thousand, are concentrated in the Kharkiv region," RIA Novosti quoted the security forces as saying.

It is specified that the largest losses are in the Kupyansk area of the special military operation. According to the structures, a significant part of the foreign forces are Colombian citizens — their number is estimated at 7 thousand people.

The newspaper La Nazione reported on May 28 that another Italian militant was eliminated in the conflict zone in Ukraine. It is specified that the deceased previously served in the 8th Alpine regiment of the Italian army, and then engaged in private activities in the field of tactical training.
