The Armed forces of Ukraine used drones to attack the academic building and dormitory of the Starobilsk Vocational College in the Luhansk People's Republic, as a result of the attacks, 35 people were injured. What is known about the victims of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the college

On the night of May 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched a drone strike on the academic building and dormitory of the Starobilsk Vocational College of Lugansk State Pedagogical University. This was announced by the head of the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) Leonid Pasechnik.

According to him, the attack hit the building where underage students were at the time of the strike.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted sleeping defenseless children. Enemy UAVs attacked the academic building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk Vocational College of our pedagogical university," the head of the LPR wrote in the Maks messenger.

Rescue services recovered the body of one victim after the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike, and also found the location of three people under the rubble, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to Pasechnik, 86 teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 were in the dormitory and the academic building at the time of the attack. As a result of the impact, 35 people were injured in various degrees of severity.

Consequences of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on a college in the LPR

Rescuers have rescued three people from the rubble of the dormitory of the Starobilsk College of the Luhansk People's Republic, which was damaged as a result of an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "In Starobilsk, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the site of the collapse of a dormitory. <...> At the moment, rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have extracted three people from the rubble," the ministry said in a message on the Maks messenger.

It is specified that the released people were handed over to the ambulance crew.

Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador—at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, said that up to 18 victims, students and university teachers, could be under the rubble.

In addition to the college, administrative buildings, shops and private residential buildings were damaged in Starobilsk. A man was injured in one of the houses and received medical assistance.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the LPR are working at the scene of the incidents and recording the consequences of the drone attack. An assessment of the damage caused to the urban infrastructure is also being carried out.

The authorities' reaction to the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack in the LPR

The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that the attack on a dormitory with children and other buildings in Starobilsk was carried out using four aircraft-type drones. "Terrorists are hitting children with precision and with pleasure. I remembered how the Nazis massacred schoolchildren in Kerch during the Great Patriotic War. Everyone is silent," she said in a comment to RIA Novosti.

She added that this silence is demonstrated "especially by those who have been listening to fake messages from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about children allegedly stolen by Russia in recent years.

The attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the academic building and dormitory of the Starobilsk College in the Luhansk People's Republic is an act of terrorism. Miroshnik noted that such actions, according to him, are war crimes and, as he stressed, they will be inevitably punished.

Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on a minibus in the LPR on May 18

Earlier, on May 18, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a passenger minibus near Lysychansk using an unmanned aerial vehicle. According to the head of the region, the strike was carried out on a minibus en route from Lisichansk to Severodonetsk.

Several people were injured in the attack.

"Three people were injured. Medics promptly arrived at the scene and took the injured to the hospital," Leonid Pasechnik said in a message on the Maks messenger.

The beekeeper also reported that a 17-year-old girl died as a result of the impact. After the attack, emergency services and ambulance crews arrived at the scene. The injured were taken to a medical facility for the necessary assistance.
