A municipal-level emergency regime has been introduced in the city of Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol Territory, in connection with the consequences of floods. On June 1, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov reported damage in the region.
The head of the region noted that since last week, due to the new influx of water, flooding has continued in the area of Mineralnye Vody and the village of Levokumka. Now the water is already inside 36 houses.
"Temporary accommodation facilities have been prepared in case the situation worsens. At the same time, the Mineralovodsk District is eliminating the effects of heavy hail, and more than 60 roofs have been damaged. I supported the introduction of an emergency regime at the municipal level," Vladimirov wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the governor, such measures will allow for faster targeted assistance to victims of the disaster.
On May 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Prosecutor General's Office (GP) of the Russian Federation to check compliance with legislative prohibitions aimed at protecting against flooding in the regions. On the same day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the allocation of about 1.8 billion rubles to the Trans-Baikal Territory, Omsk and Orenburg regions for the restoration of roads destroyed by floods.
Natalia Yumina, head of the Department of River Hydrological Forecasts at the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, reported on April 14 that flooding in some regions of Russia would end only in early or mid-June. Severe floods due to a dangerous rise in water levels in reservoirs were recorded in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories, Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk regions. Unfavorable values were predicted in Bryansk, Vladimir, Kursk, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Mari El, Udmurtia and Dagestan.
