Blogger Lercek (real name — Valeria Chekalina) has completed her fifth course of chemotherapy for the treatment of stomach cancer and held a sale of branded personal items in Moscow. She underwent a new stage of treatment after a wave of criticism online, including amid a scandal at a Moscow fitness club. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Lerchek's health status

Chekalina reported on the successful completion of the fifth stage of chemotherapy and noted that this time the side effects were much weaker.

"You can congratulate me: the fifth chemistry is over, <...> i feel good, i didn't feel sick this time. I hope nausea won't catch up with me in the next few days," Chekalina shared.

In support of her words, the blogger presented the results of medical examinations. Previously, Chekalina's health condition required the use of a wheelchair. According to her fiance Luis Squicciarini, the blogger was in severe pain due to bone metastases, especially in her leg. After undergoing radiation therapy, the number of metastases decreased, which allowed her to return to walking and swimming.

Criticism and accusations of simulation

TV presenter Otar Kushanashvili, who himself is undergoing treatment for cancer, questioned Chekalina's honesty. The journalist drew attention to the absence of references to specific doctors and medical institutions in the blogger's publications.

"Why is it that in this chronicle, which resembles a tour at the Vernadsky Circus, not a single Aesculapius is mentioned by first name and patronymic? There is not a single mention of how grateful they are to the nurses, not a single doctor's name, nothing. Because it's all a huge bubble," Kushanashvili said.

An additional reason for criticism in social networks was a video from a sports club, where Chekalina was noticed at the time when she was supposed to go for treatment. Questions were also raised by documents according to which the blogger refused urgent hospitalization at the beginning of the year.

Singer Egor Creed defended Chekalina. In an interview with the magazine "Editorial opinion may not coincide," the musician, who personally met with Lercek, assured that the blogger's diagnosis was not a hoax.

"She has stage IV cancer, and the whole Internet accuses her of faking it. That's the time right now. People hate people, that's all. And social media is provoking this," Creed said.

Financial issues and new projects

The lawsuits involving the blogger have been suspended for medical reasons, but the family continues to solve accumulated financial problems. Artem Chekalin, Chekalina's ex-husband, sold a house in the Agalarov Estate cottage settlement for 176 million rubles. The deal was sanctioned by the court to pay off the blogger's tax debt.

Despite the treatment, Chekalina continues to develop her business: she has launched a new cosmetics brand, Eyya Skin. As part of the advertising campaign, the blogger posed without a wig, explaining this decision as a desire to support women facing cancer.

On May 30, a sale of Chekalina's personal belongings took place in the Moscow art space "Bakery" on Bolshaya Novodmitrovskaya Street. The guests were offered clothes, shoes, accessories and children's items. Among the items on sale are Louis Vuitton bags, Versace shoes and Chanel shoes. Prices were two to three times lower than retail prices.

Lercek herself did not appear at the event. The organizers did not disclose where the proceeds would be directed, and refrained from commenting on the blogger's condition.
