Blogger Lercek (real name — Valeria Chekalina) has completed her fifth course of chemotherapy for the treatment of stomach cancer. She underwent a new stage of treatment after a wave of criticism that she received online, including amid a scandal at a Moscow fitness club. After another course of chemotherapy, Chekalina admitted that her condition had improved. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

The course of treatment and the state of health of the blogger

Chekalina reported on the successful completion of the fifth stage of chemotherapy. According to the blogger, she feels good, but the side effects in the form of nausea do not bother her this time. In support of her words, she provided the results of medical examinations.

"You can congratulate me: the fifth chemistry is over, <...> i feel good, i didn't feel sick this time. I hope nausea won't catch up with me in the next few days," Chekalina shared.

Previously, the blogger's health condition required the use of a wheelchair. According to her fiance Luis Squicciarini, due to bone metastases, especially in her leg, Lercek was in severe pain. After undergoing radiation therapy, the number of metastases decreased, which allowed her to return to walking and swimming.

Lercek's criticism and accusations of simulation

TV presenter Otar Kushanashvili, who is also being treated for cancer, questioned Lercek's honesty. The journalist drew attention to the lack of references to specific doctors and medical institutions in Chekalina's publications, calling the situation an imitation of the disease in order to attract attention.

"Why is it that in this chronicle, which resembles a tour at the Vernadsky Circus, not a single Aesculapius is mentioned by first name and patronymic? There is not a single mention of how grateful they are to the nurses, not a single doctor's name, nothing. Because it's all a huge bubble," Kushanashvili said.

An additional reason for criticism on social media was a video from a sports club, where Chekalina was spotted at the time when she was supposed to go for treatment. Questions were also raised about the documents according to which the blogger refused urgent hospitalization at the beginning of the year.

At the same time, singer Egor Creed stood up for Chekalin in an interview with the magazine "Editorial opinion may not coincide." The musician, who met with Lercek personally, assured her that her diagnosis was not a hoax.

"She has stage IV cancer, and the whole Internet accuses her of faking it. That's the time right now. People hate people, that's all. And social media is provoking this," Creed said.

Financial issues and new projects by Lercek

The lawsuits involving the blogger have been suspended for medical reasons. At the same time, the family continues to solve accumulated financial problems.

The blogger's former husband, Artyom Chekalin, sold a house in the Agalarov Estate cottage settlement for 176 million rubles. The deal was sanctioned by the court to pay off Valeria Chekalina's tax debts.

Despite the therapy, the blogger continues to develop the business. She launched a new cosmetics brand Eyya Skin. As part of the advertising campaign, Chekalina posed without a wig, explaining this decision with the intention to support women facing cancer.
