Peskov commented on Zelensky's letter to Trump demanding weapons
When it comes to the situation with Washington, Moscow should focus on the hourly forecast. This was announced on May 31 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Vesti news agency journalist Pavel Zarubin.
"Next, do you mean before lunch, after lunch? The step is much smaller here. You need to navigate here. There's an hourly forecast here," Peskov said.
When asked by a journalist what to expect from the United States next, Peskov clarified what he meant.
Accordingly, he commented on the letter from the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, which he sent to the American leader, Donald Trump, demanding that Kiev provide weapons.
Zelensky's former press secretary Yulia Mendel said on May 28 that the Ukrainian leader had put the White House in an awkward position with his letter. She explained that the president of Ukraine rejected many peace proposals, called the Trump administration an "enemy of democracy," and then asked for missiles. In case of refusal, according to Mendel, the United States may seem like a bad ally to partners.
The NBC News channel on the same day indicated that there was no response from Washington to Kiev. Two days later, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth said that the United States wanted Ukraine to be able to defend itself. He clarified that where his government could help, it did.
