BMW cars are the most liquid and coveted premium brand at auctions among cars that were previously in carsharing fleets or have minor damage. The share of this brand in the total trading volume of the premium segment at auctions reached 22%, the press service of the Migtorg online platform told Izvestia on May 28.

Experts have studied the structure of demand for premium cars at their auctions in the first quarter of 2026. The most sought-after models are the BMW 5 series and X5, which auction participants are actively dismantling to recover from an accident.

Mercedes-Benz is in second place in the rating (18% share), the E-Class model is the leader in popularity. Bentley closes the top three with a 12% share. At the same time, Chinese premium brands such as Zeekr, Voyah and Hongqi do not exceed 3-5% of the total segment volume, experts noted.

"Six months ago, we openly stated that people do not see the point in overpaying and restoring broken cars for themselves. It was a story about pragmatism and economy. Now we are noticing that wealthier Russians are also ready to repair cars after an accident, even with luxury cars. The millions saved on restoration are invested in tuning," explained Alexander Korotkov, CEO of Migtorg.

Earlier that day, it was reported that Chinese cars turned out to be the leaders in accidents in Russia, they were included in the statistics of CTP insurance cases by 33% more often than other models. Analysts of the Renaissance Insurance group told Izvestia about this. Uzbek cars were the second most dangerous (26%), and Korean-made cars were in third place (16%).
