The FSB announced Estonia's attempt to withdraw from the agreement on Lake Peipsi

Tallinn is taking steps to abandon the agreements previously reached with Moscow on the delimitation of the waters of Lake Peipsi and the Narva River. This was announced on May 27 by Vladimir Kulishov, first Deputy director and head of the FSB border Service.

"The Estonian authorities are trying to move away from the agreements on the delimitation of the waters of Lake Peipsi and the Narva River. Their initiatives create conditions for conflict situations on the state border," Kulishov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

According to the FSB representative, the actions of the Estonian side also negatively affect the safety of navigation in the border waters. The capabilities of the border representatives and the Russian Foreign Ministry are now being used to resolve the situation.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyansky said on May 21 that the military activity of NATO states near the border of the Russian Federation had reached the level of the Cold War. According to him, the Russian leader has already warned that any attempts to blockade or invade the Kaliningrad region would lead to "unprecedented escalation."

On May 11, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budris announced the need to return to the policy of pressure on Moscow. After that, he called on NATO to demonstrate its readiness for military pressure on the Kaliningrad region.
