Injections can be an effective way to maintain youth and improve skin condition, but there are many myths surrounding these procedures that have nothing to do with reality. Ekaterina Vasilyeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist, told about this on Monday, May 25.

According to the doctor, she often encountered patients' concerns about the "migration" of botox and fillers. The substance does not move anywhere, but there are cases in which some cosmetologists make mistakes by placing it in the surface layers of the skin, she explained.

"The main property of hyaluronic acid is to attract water. When we place it deep on the periosteum, we compensate for the volume lost with age. If a nasolabial fold or nasolabial groove appears on the face, the filler is placed in this area, water is attracted there, due to this, the facial tissues look more elastic," Vasilyeva explained in an interview with Paragraph, adding that if the procedure was performed superficially, a person may get a more puffy face.

The cosmetologist added that patients also have a fear of going blind after "beauty injections" in the nose, and it is not without reason. When agreeing to manipulation, it is important to remember that any intervention related to skin injury can carry certain risks: there are no completely dangerous or completely safe procedures. The expert recommended choosing only trusted specialists.
