This weekend, the extreme heat will leave Central Russia, and next week, a sharp cold snap is expected under the influence of a cold atmospheric front, meteorologists promise. It will become noticeably warmer in the east and south-east of the country — in the Volga region and the Urals. About how and why the weather will change in the coming days, see the Izvestia article.

Weather in the capital region

The weather in Moscow and the region will be changeable, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading expert at Meteonosti, told Izvestia. On Friday evening and on Saturday night, one of the cold atmospheric fronts will take place, accompanied by showers and thunderstorms. Wind gusts can reach 12-15 meters per second.

At the same time, the air temperature will remain quite high over the weekend: 14-18 degrees at night and 22-25 degrees during the day. Short-term rain is possible in some places on May 23. No significant precipitation is expected on Sunday.

After that, the capital region will experience moderately warm weather.

— Next week, atmospheric pressure will begin to decrease, we will find ourselves in the rear of a high—altitude cyclone, - explained Tatiana Pozdnyakova. — On Monday, the minimum temperature will be 14-16 degrees, in the afternoon — 18-20, which is close to the climatic norm. By the middle of the week, it will cool down to 7-12 degrees at night, during the day the air will warm up only to 10-15 degrees, which is already four degrees below normal. So May in Moscow will end with cool, wet weather.

In the Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov regions and the Komi Republic, on May 24, forecasters predict showers with thunderstorms. Hail is expected in the Voronezh region. On the weekend and Monday, heavy rains will affect the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, as well as the republics of the North Caucasus — North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia, Chechnya.

Heavy rains with thunderstorms will take place in Zaporizhia, Kherson regions, Crimea and Adygea. Frosts of up to minus 5 degrees are expected in the Altai Territory, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, and Novosibirsk regions on May 23.

Where will the heat go

Serious weather changes are coming: a cold front will cross the center of Russia on Friday and Saturday, and the heat will leave for the east and southeast of the country, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told Izvestia.

The weather will be moderately warm over the weekend in the central regions, from Yaroslavl to Lipetsk, with temperatures of 22-24 degrees. Short-term rains are possible in some places. On Saturday, according to the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Ryazan region.

Then, according to Alexander Shuvalov, a rapid cooling will begin. A cyclone from the northwest will bring heavy rains. In the central part of Russia, the temperature will be below the climatic norm.

— By the middle of next week, it will get colder in the afternoon to 10-15 degrees, — said the meteorologist. — This weather, which is more typical for the end of April, will last in the capital and surrounding areas for several more days.

"The hot air came to us from the south, from Iran," Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, told Izvestia. — And now we are enjoying incredibly warm weather, which is very rare in May.

However, a north-westerly cyclone will soon come to us from the Barents Sea through the Baltic States, the forecaster promises. The weather in Central Russia will be moderately warm, and the heat will shift to the southeast — towards the Volga region, Orenburg and Chelyabinsk. Then the tropical air will move to the southwest of Siberia - to Tomsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, where it is still cool.

According to forecasts of the Hydrometeorological Center, abnormally hot weather will set in the north of the Volga Federal District this weekend.

When climatic conditions change, it is important to switch on time and dress according to the weather, Andrei Petrovich Kondrakhin, Candidate of Medical Sciences and senior lecturer at the Department of Pharmacology at the Pirogov Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry, told Izvestia.

"Our body, like us, thinks that such heat has come for a long time, and our capillaries are open to release excess heat,— explained Kondrakhin. — It takes time to adapt, five or seven days. If the body does not have time to get used to it, we will supercool very quickly. Moreover, it will rain — with high humidity, heat is lost very quickly. And hypothermia is the worst enemy.

According to him, various chronic diseases can "raise their heads," not only infectious ones.
