The crew of the T-72B3M tank destroyed the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold in the area of the special operation

The crew of the T-72B3M tank of the motorized rifle unit of the Center group of forces defeated a strong point and suppressed three firing points of formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Dobropolsky area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on May 22.

Having received the exact coordinates of the target from the operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the tankers aimed the combat vehicle at the target and fired a series of accurate shots with 125-mm high-explosive shells from a closed firing position, as a result of which the destruction of the stronghold and the suppression of three firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were confirmed.

It is noted that such systematic work on the destruction of strongholds creates the necessary conditions for the successful advancement of Russian assault units. Shooting from closed firing positions along a mounted trajectory with constant adjustments from drones makes tank strikes targeted and invisible to enemy counter-battery warfare. After completing the task, the crew promptly masks the equipment and hides in prepared shelters.

"Most of the time we are working on militant fortifications, as well as on concrete pillboxes (long—term firing points — Ed.), on manpower and on enemy armored vehicles," said Roman Shlykov, commander of the T-72B3M tank.

Ernest Mukhametzyanov, the gunner of the T72B3M tank, noted that the work is carried out mainly from closed firing lines.

On May 21, the Ministry of Defense announced that military personnel from the D-30 howitzer howitzer division of the 80th tank Regiment of the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Center group of forces destroyed a UAV stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Dnepropetrovsk direction, disguised in a forest belt. It is noted that the UAV crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was also located in the fortification, which conducted reconnaissance and fire correction at the positions of Russian military units. The target was detected by aerial reconnaissance vehicles, and its coordinates were transmitted to the artillery unit.
