The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow's interests were taken into account when supplying gas to Europe.

Russia will be guided by its own interests in the issue of gas supplies to Europe. This was announced on May 20 by Dmitry Birichevsky, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Those who say loudly that we don't want to, we won't, but are secretly trying to buy, I think the government is considering the possibility of refusing those who want to breathe in the last minutes before they die," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Birichevsky, some countries in Europe continue to buy Russian gas despite and at the same time criticize Russia. He noted that the issue of supplies to such countries will be decided on an individual basis.
