During the liberation of the village of Volokhovka in the Kharkiv region, operators of the reconnaissance forces of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) identified enemy fire points. Footage of the liberation on May 19 was published by the Ministry of Defense.

The footage shows how motorized rifle troops, together with drone strike crews, are knocking out militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from buildings, dugouts and basements. In addition, artillery crews conducted counter-battery warfare and hit drone control points and enemy communications systems.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stressed that two groups of attack aircraft from a mechanized brigade had been deployed to hold the village, but this had no effect. The Ukrainian militants suffered losses and were forced to retreat, abandoning their positions.

The ministry added that units of the North group of forces continue to create a security zone in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Troops are moving forward every day, pushing the enemy away from the state border.

On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Armed Forces had liberated the village of Volokhovka in the Kharkiv region. The ministry clarified that Russian military personnel hit several brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

On May 16, the Russian army also liberated the settlements of Borovaya and Kutkovka in the Kharkiv region. It was noted that the Russian Armed Forces defeated the manpower and equipment of the assault and two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
