The Central Bank of the Russian Federation considers the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court to recover €200 billion from the European depository Euroclear in favor of the regulator satisfactory. The Bank of Russia announced this on May 15.

"We are satisfied with the court's decision, which recognized the illegality of the actions of the Euroclear depository, causing losses to the Bank of Russia," RIA Novosti reports.

The Central Bank stressed that the final text of the court's decision has not been prepared and it has not yet entered into force. The regulator also indicated that Euroclear has the right to challenge it by filing an appeal. The central bank also noted that it would continue to challenge the illegal blocking of sovereign Russian assets in European courts.

On May 15, the Moscow Arbitration Court granted the Central Bank's claim against Euroclear for €200 billion. In turn, representatives of the depository stated that they consider the proceedings on this claim to be unfair.

The consideration of the Bank of Russia's lawsuit against Euroclear began on January 16. On the same day, at the request of the Central Bank, the case was transferred to a closed mode, due to the presentation of materials with limited access information, in particular, bank secrecy. Later, on February 26, the Belgian depository filed a closed-door complaint against the claim of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
