Wang Yi called the relationship between China and the United States the most difficult in the world

The bilateral relations between the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the United States are the most complex in the world, and no one can bear the consequences of their potential conflict. This was announced on May 15 by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

"The relationship between China and the United States is the most important and complex bilateral relationship in the world. <...> It should be a stable stability with peace and without conflicts, confrontations or even war. Peaceful coexistence is the main common denominator between China and the United States, and no one can bear the consequences of conflict and confrontation," Wang Yi is quoted as saying on the agency's website.

The Chinese Foreign Minister added that it is important for Beijing and Washington to show mutual respect and give each other the right to development. According to him, the diplomacy of Chinese President Xi Jinping and the head of the White House, Donald Trump, is a "guiding star" in building an interstate dialogue.

Wang Yi recalled that Xi Jinping and Trump agreed to exchange letters and phone calls during joint talks. He stressed that "constructive strategic and stable relations between China and the United States" is not a slogan, but a goal that both sides adhere to.

The parties will once again play their cards both in bilateral relations and in the international arena.

The Chinese foreign minister said on the same day that a potential confrontation between his country and the United States could turn into a global catastrophe. He said that Sino-American relations continue to be competitive, but Beijing is not interested in reducing relations with Washington to "zero-sum games" in which one side tries to leave the other with nothing.

Trump said on May 15 that his delegation and representatives of China had reached important agreements. He also called the existing relations between the two countries important. A day earlier, the American leader called his talks with Xi Jinping excellent.
