According to industry ratings, the Moscow Metro took the first place in Europe in terms of the pace of fleet renovation and the third place in the world in terms of the speed of construction. In the year of its 90th anniversary, the number of stations reached 306, and the share of new trains reached 80%.

It is expected that by 2030, the number of so—called "rejuvenated" trains will be measured at 90% - only this month, specialists from Mytishchi commissioned the thousandth motor car, which became part of the next Moscow-2026 train. The compositions of this model debuted in December last year. Currently, 144 cars from this series can be found on only one green line. Russian developers managed to significantly reduce the noise level in them, as well as expand the doorways by 32%, which in turn significantly accelerated the process of disembarking and boarding passengers. The updates affected the maximum capacity, which increased to over 1,490 people.

Over the past 15 years, the capital's subway system has grown to include more than 260 km of lines and 127 stations. At the same time, train service intervals during periods of high load — peak hours — were significantly reduced. Now the waiting time at such moments is approximately 90 seconds. If in 2010 the metro could accommodate 12.5 million people per day, now the metro and MCC trains can carry over 18 million.

Now the builders continue to work on laying the Rublyovo-Arkhangelsk branch, which will increase transport accessibility for almost 1 million residents of seven districts of the capital. In parallel, the construction of the Biryulevskaya line and the second section of the Troitskiy radius, as well as the Golyanovo and Dostoevskaya stations, continues. It is planned that by 2032 Moscow will be able not only to double the length of metro lines, but also to create 34 stations, as well as 83 km of lines.

On March 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out the need to use advanced breakthrough digital platform solutions in the development of transport. According to him, such steps will help reduce costs and have a positive impact on improving the service provided to citizens. At the same time, he added that Russia has "enormous" logistical and transit potential.

On February 9, the press service of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced plans by the city administration to design and build a new metro line towards Skolkovo. It was noted that the past year was also a success for the Moscow machine building industry.
