Acting Governor of the Bryansk region Egor Kovalchuk said that this appointment is a great honor for him. He announced this on May 13.
"Of course, it is a great honor to receive such an offer and continue working, in general, in a difficult region in a difficult current situation," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Kovalchuk acting governor of the Bryansk region.
By the same decree, Putin accepted the resignation of the former governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, at his own request. It is noted that the document entered into force from the date of its signing.
The head of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov resigned from the post of governor of the region on the same day. It is specified that Alexander Shuvaev will temporarily serve as the head of the region. The decree comes into force today.
