A criminal case on the fact of an accident with a children's bus in the Omsk region

A criminal case has been opened in the Omsk region over a bus accident that killed a child. This was reported on May 10 by the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Omsk region.

The case was initiated under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules that caused the death of a person"), as well as under Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers").

"An investigation team is working at the scene of the incident. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances, as well as the causes and conditions that contributed to the incident," the agency's website says.

It is specified that during the accident, the bus collided with a heavy truck. According to preliminary data, one child was killed, seven children, as well as the driver, were injured in various degrees of severity and taken to the hospital.

The regional prosecutor's office added that as a result of the accident, the minibus went into a ditch. There were eight children in the vehicle. The deceased passenger is a 12-year-old boy. The children returned home after the end of volleyball and football competitions organized on the basis of the Tyukalinsky district municipal educational budgetary institution of additional education "Children's and Youth Center".

"The causes and circumstances of the incident will be established during an inspection organized by police officers, which the prosecutor's office has put under control. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved," the agency said in a message on the Maks messenger.

The death of a child in an accident on the 519th km of the Omsk-Tyumen highway involving a bus and a truck became known on the same day. Representatives of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia then reported seven injured children. It was noted that all of them were taken to hospitals. The accident, the causes of which will be determined as a result of the inspection, occurred on the 519th km of the Tyumen– Omsk highway. The governor of the Omsk region, Vitaly Khotsenko, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased boy.
