An accident with a school bus in the Omsk region. What is known

On the afternoon of May 10, 2026, a school bus collided with a heavy truck on the Omsk–Tyumen highway, killing a 12-year-old boy and injuring at least seven children and the driver. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

The circumstances of the incident

The accident occurred in the daytime on May 10 on the 519th km of the Omsk–Tyumen highway. According to preliminary data, a heavy-duty vehicle and a Gazelle minibus with children in it collided. After the impact, the minibus slid into a ditch.

A school bus was transporting a group of children returning to the village of Malinovka from the town of Tyukalinsk, where they were watching a movie. There were eight children in the car at the time of the accident. The bus driver was also injured and taken to the hospital.

The regional Ministry of Health clarified to Izvestia that the number of injured in road accidents had increased to nine.

The reaction of the authorities

The Governor of the Omsk region, Vitaly Khotsenko, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased child. On his instructions, the provision of medical and psychological assistance to the victims is supervised by the Minister of Health Dmitry Markelov, the Minister of Regional Security Alexei Kubits and the head of Tyukalinsky district Ivan Kutsevich.

The Prosecutor's office of the Omsk region took control of the establishment of all the circumstances of the accident. Acting Tyukalinsky interdistrict prosecutor Marina Guliyeva is at the scene to coordinate the actions of law enforcement agencies. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
