Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, arrives in Moscow to celebrate Victory Day
The supreme ruler of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, arrived in Russia on the eve of Victory Day celebrations. The king's plane landed on May 6 at Moscow airport, where he was met by officials. The footage was shown by the Ruptly video agency.
According to the Malaysian state news agency Bernama, the monarch traveled to Moscow at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Sultan's plane took off for Russia at 8:00 a.m. local time (3:00 a.m. Moscow time).
Prior to that, the supreme ruler of Malaysia was on a private visit to Russia in late January. He went on a guided tour of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. The exhibits of the museum were shown to him personally by the President of the Russian Federation and CEO of the treasury Mikhail Piotrovsky.
On May 9, a parade will be held on Red Square in honor of the 81st anniversary of the victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). It will be attended, in particular, by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico and President of Serbia Alexander Vucic. A rehearsal for the Victory Day Parade took place in Moscow on Red Square on the night of May 5.
Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense Committee, warned on May 6 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) would receive multiple retaliatory strikes if they attempted to launch attacks during the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9.
